My brother in law is looking to get a used late model audi. problem is he lives in europe where odometer tampering is rampant. He knows I'm into vag cars and tinkering and asked me how to know the true mileage. I don't, hoping you guys do.

I know bmw stores mileage in the key, ecu, and even other modules, but is there any way to verify the audi cars he is looking at (4.2 A6 2007 or a8)? So far I only found EDC17 and 15 diesel cars that have a way to verify, but not the gasoline cars.

thanks for the input.

I wish there was a way, seems like an honorable feature. There is no Measuring Block that will show this "true" statistic.

Cars such as the Q7 (9.1) are still very much under dealer supervision. It would be difficult without the use of a $10000.00 factory tool to even attempt tampering with the cluster.

I was only speaking about the two cars you mentioned. No measuring blocks in the 2007 A6 or A8 give the information you are looking for.
