View Full Version : What do you guys think of RC51's? STASIK_A4 03-28-2008, 03:49 AM any of you have riden one or have experince with one or have one? I had a gixxer 750 for 6 years and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The biggest improvements were the power commander and exhaust. I drown out everyone I ride with, including some harley guys. I can cruise down the road and people swear it's a small block coming. tpierce 03-28-2008, 10:56 AM the RC51 and VFR are some of the best sounding bikers ever. boostedfun 03-28-2008, 11:35 AM wish I held onto it. I beat the piss out of it and as long as there was oil in the motor the thing kept going. Plus the exhaust note with aftermarket pipes is sex on 2 wheels. Also, -1,+3 gearing made the thing a beast. The minus is that they are heavier then the more recent liter biks. escargot 03-31-2008, 10:39 AM Hell, I'd get one again, but I want something a little bit lighter. I wish Honda would make a successor. It's sad that they no longer make a V-twin sportbike. Pros: -Sounds fantastic, especially with Sato Banzais (listen). -Rare. -Super stable in the corners... it's a fantastic frame. -Price... they're getting awfully cheap. Check out the Speedzilla.com forums. You can find SP2s with all sorts of great mods (Satos, Olhins, rearsets, PCIIIr, etc) for around $7k. -Honda reliability. Cons: -Heavy. -Dated technology (the lighter, smaller Ducati 848 makes similar horsepower now). -Dated looks (though it still looks great, it doesn't have that modern "sharp" look that new sportbikes have). If you do get one, go for an '02+, as they have a few small improvements (larger throttle bodies, smoother mapping, better swingarm, etc). Winfield@Amsterdam 04-02-2008, 02:45 PM BeeRock::Riding Red 04-30-2008, 08:25 AM BeeRock::Riding Red 04-30-2008, 08:29 AM |
