2008 Kawasaki Versys

I finalized the paperwork last night. Since it was snowing at the time, I asked if the dealer could deliver it to me, which they did this morning.

I purchased KTM hand guards and a Tourmaster heated vest while at the dealership last night and installed both of those items today. The roads still have snow & ice on them in places, so I haven't taken it out yet, as much as I wanted too.

Kawasaki side-bags are on order, but I'm told they're back-ordered for at least 4 weeks. That sucks, but I'm sure I won't miss them too much at this time of year. I'm also thinking of ordering the crash bars and maybe the Givi top rack.

If you could, please keep us updated on how you like it. Also, post pics of the bags when you get them on. Everything i've read about them says they are great bikes.

It's not mine, but here are some good photos of the bags. You can follow the link for more.

That bike above also has a larger screen on it and engine/crash bars. I'm thinking of the bars, and maybe a different screen, but not that one.

I have yet to read anything negative about this bike. I first read about it on Webbikeworld.com a couple months before my other bike was totaled. I had been pipe dreaming of a Triumph Tiger at the time and to me this looked like a cheaper alternative, which isn't too far off the mark. A local dealer had a demo unit Tiger for sale for a real good price which I seriously considered.

The Tiger was still a little above my budget, but I could stretched a bit and got it, but I still decided on the Versys.

Now I can't wait for the break in period to be over. 4k RPMs is going to kill me.

http://klrworld.com/forums/index.php?topic=6037.0

The OEM Honda bags made by Givi and are similar. Very nice they mount up quickly and very solidly, roomy and water tight, you'll love them.

That thing looks nice with the bags, hand guards and crash bars.

The OEM Kawasaki bags are the same Givi's, but color coded - or should be according to their photos.

I want to say that guy above ordered the OEM bags, but they're all black. Kawasaki's info has been lacking.
