I saw the <a href="http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/airoh-tr1/" target="_blank">Airoh TR1 reviewed on Webbikeworld.com</a> a while ago and had to have it.

Not available in the U.S. so I had to order it from Europe. My first attempt didn't go well, I ordered it then was asked to pay an additional $40 in shipping so I canceled the order. Then I found an Italian seller on eBay and bought it from them. Took two weeks to get here, but all was well.

It does have a kind of a different fit compared to my old helmet and there is/was a uncomfortable pressure point on the center of my forehead. My solution was to cut my hair real short and it made it better. lol.

Too bad I don't have a bike to ride - so the helmet is shelf decoration for now!

Here are some pix of my own helmet:

how sturdily is it held in there?

It's rated as a "jet" style helmet (i.e. 3/4 helmet) and the chin bar is removable. It's held in well, but it's not designed to offer maximum protection in an serious impact.
