only put 120 miles on the gixxer so far as I just picked it up yesterday afternoon. Still taking it easy on her for this week until the real beating starts. But, intial impressions are it's deceptive how fast it really is. With the RC the torque (considerable regearing) would try to throw you off the back of the bike when accelerating. Easiest way to compare the motors is driving an America muscle car to a Honda S2000. The gixxer feels and is lighter and the suspension feels more redefined and absorbs road imperfections better. Surprisingly, the riding position on the Gixxer is a tad more upright than the RC. Overall, the Gixxer feels to be a great bike, but I do miss the RC. The torque and exhaust note is unmatchable.

is just smooth all the way and you easily lose sight of what speed you're at until you look down and say, "What the?!?! Waaay beyond speed limit".

I'm sort of waiting for Ducati to announce the 848; also waiting for Honda to announce the '08 lineup.

But, truthfully, I'll probably get something used and save my money.
