I know AW is mostly populated by sport bike guys but I'm more of a crusier type, and my insureance is a lot less if I go with a cruiser, so that sealed the deal.
Rules..
1) No Harely's.. I'm not paying for the name
2) Something a step up from the smallest crusier. No sportster, Suzuki S40, or Honda Rebel size bikes. I want something a little more substantial
3) Price is a concern, I think I'll have 3-5K to spend which is not a lot, but can get me into something used for sure. (that's not including riding gear, I have a sperate fund for that)
any insight would be awesome.. TIA

I own a 06 and love it. You can get an older model for your price range. They are tanks and super reliable. V twin, shaft driven, twin front disk brakes, I could on and on.

my dad has one, he really likes it. I've ridden it a few times, loads of torque from the v-twin.

I got an M50 initially because it was one of the "sportiest" cruisers out there in its price range. Ride was excellent and no issues the entire time I had her. Compliments on it everywhere I went.
I sold mine ('06 M50 w/ a sh1tload of mods) for just under 5K, so you should definitely be able to find one in the same price range in perfect running condition.

did you go on any long trips? I would defiantly do a couple 350+ mile rides to visit friends if the bike was comfortable enough
I actually got really excited about the couple boulevards I've seen in person, but I just assumed they were a more expensive bike, lol.

.. and each time, comfort was not an issue. I dont see why you wouldnt be able to do 350+ mile rides on it. See if you can get a test ride somewhere.. I'm sure you'll like it.
I got it brand new for $6800 OTD. The M50 was a good middle ground. The C90 is more $$ and then the M109 is just insane, but awesome. =)
