M954 07-15-2007, 06:24 PM Your the guy that that will be in an accident if you already haven't. How long have you been riding *******! Don't go shooting your mouth off just because you're part of the Iron Take It Up the Butt Association. You don't know **** about riding. You want to get mouthy with your language, GO **** YOURSELF, *******! Joey T 07-16-2007, 02:22 PM Riding for 19 years. I put 53k on the Sabre, 43k on the VF500F, 24k on the other, and I have over 18k in deliveries. Tell ya what.. lets see who can ride. We will get on our bikes and ride to Deals Gap. We can make a few passes, then run the Cherahola, then we can head West. First one from TN to CA and back wins the other guys bike. In my case, I only have older bikes, but I do have five of them.. you can have them all. M954 07-16-2007, 05:20 PM When I can ever manage to take the time off from work, you've got a DEAL! In fact, after our two wheel ride, let's see who can ride the furthest on one wheel. It's always a great laugh for me when I ride with loud mouth's who think they can ride. Joey T 07-16-2007, 07:38 PM Had we been in the same room, I would have said the same thing, but with a tone of voice that would have made it acceptable. When and if we meet I will try it again:) Second, that trip is at *best* five days. Depends on where you start from. Third, riding a wheelie on a bike was cool one. Like when I was twelve. Fourth, please read the Hurt study. There is a link a few posts down. Be intelligent enough to realize that stunting with your friends is not riding a motorcycle. And I would say that in the interest of saving you some days off, how about a track day local to you? Where are you? We could do some track time. I will ride a twenty two year old 500. And before you agree, lemme send you the e-mail addy's of some reasonably successful amature racers. You may find that riding a motorcycle fast is 90% rider and 10% bike, and doing wheelies and stoppies does not prepare you for learning to turn. Again, I should have chosen my words more carefully in my first post. OTOH, I have held kids like you in my arms as they died. It is a terrible thing to watch a body quiver and shake as their brains run out their ears and noses, in a perfectly survivable accident, had only they been wearing gear. Safety gear is not for when you ride, it is for when you crash. What day will you crash on? M954 07-16-2007, 09:26 PM but, had you have said it to me in person, regardless of your tone, I would have told you to drop dead. Unless someone is potentially doing harm to you or to others, you should keep your negative comments to yourself. I'm in CT and the trip would be one I would like to do regardless of how it originates. Riding wheelies and other stunts at this time for me is more of a rush than, the twisties because I've been there and done that (not claiming to be a pro), but I hold my own. A track day would be fun, I would have to get my current bike safety wired and checked. Next, you don't have to try to tell me anything about motorcycle riding. You boasted 19 years riding; well how about 30 years combined dirt and street. At 36 I've probably got a lot more time on bikes than you, and without any street bike accidents. Not 200k street miles, but enough to know the most important rules, some of them being, ride smart, and KNOW YOUR LIMITS. Any time we goof around it is in a low to no traffic area. I'm sorry for you having to see the kids who were in accidents. The ironic thing is; I've watched guys like you die because they were over confident wearing full gear. People that ride stupid are in accidents and people that are scared are in accidents, which one are you? |
