My dealer has advised me that my car is slated for a September 29th delivery, though he hasn't responded to my inquiries regarding additional dates (build date, ship date, etc...). Being we are only a month or so out, I am skeptical that the car will arrive then without knowing any of the above dates. At what point did many of you receive your VIN numbers...a month out, a couple weeks out, etc? Lastly, if someone would even be able to see if I have a VIN I would greatly appreciate it!!! The reason for my inquiry is I am trying to determine when I will put my current vehicle on the market. Thanks in advance. Comm# 374638

see above.. I am with you

My care came out of production around August 12th, at which time my dealer gave me my VIN number..expecting delivery third week of September..that is the most accurate I have gotten

was pulled when he said, which then doing the math he was correct of what he originally said but he didn't give me an exact day just a range of last week of july to first week of August...the x factor for them was when the shipping company would get it from port. It did show up last week of July. So yes i think you can believe them.

Seriously, once I got a build date it got built around that time and my dealer let me know when it showed up with a VIN number.. Throughout the process my dealer kept me up to date copying and pasting the events tab, and giving me as much from the CRS system once the car was further along..

Then it hit the port of Emden in late June and that was that.. Fortunately, I was free of damage, but the storm held me up to the point of getting a late Aug delivery instead of early July.

I think there are too many variables involved to put too much stock in dates 2 months in the future.

When it finally arrived, I was actually surpised - I got it this past Saturday, and was convinced it would be this week.

My car actually came into port a week earlier than expected, but then there were all kinds of delays at the port. This was due to pricing not being done on some of the A4's on the boat. They ended up and held all the cars. In the end, it came out a few days late. They quoted 3 weeks to come across the ocean. Based on your username, I assume yours will be coming to Houston also? If you are still a month out, then they could still be on schedule (3 weeks to cross) as the next time they update the system will be on the ship date.
