After lurking here for over a year, I just ordered a 2009 Audi S5 in Phantom Black and am very excited.

I do need a few recommendations on two things...

1. I ordered the black/black interior with carbon fiber trim. I'm thinking of ordering custom white stitching on the black leather seats. Would that look nice, or be too much? I'm afraid that black on black might be too bland (especially after seeing the magma red).

2. I ordered all the options except for adaptive cruise control. After seeing the "R2D2" look, I was afraid that the front would lose its beauty and symmetry. Has anyone here received a Phantom Black S5 with this feature? Do you have photos of the frontend?

it has somewhat of a two tone look to it in certain light conditions as it is more black leather and 'off black' alcantara. I have it in my phantom S5 and am very happy with it. They put alcantara in a lot of high end sports cars including higher end Porsche by the way.

Custom stitching would look cool is my view, although hard to say for sure without seeing it.

I had the carbon trim on order but then after going all black interior I decided to go stock with the aluminum trim as 1. saved some cash 2. wanted more contrast to the black than the carbon would provide.

Tough choice of interiors for the S5 but (unfortunately) you'll have plenty of time to change your mind given the usual wait.

I have Phantom Black with black interior and I think it'd add a lot to the car to have contrasting stitching. On my car, the steering wheel and the shift boot have contrasting stitching and it looks great. It's an off-white, more like a canvas color than white, and it looks great. The car I spec'ed-out and had in the order bank had contrasting stitching on the interior, as well as piping.

should show up on the wheel, shifter boot etc. Having seen black on black it is too austere for my taste. I think it needs a little bit of extra contrast.
