Only if you earn your income in $.
Otherwise, you pay basically the same, just in Euros. The old story of apples and oranges...

I haven't had to go back to LA (thankfully), but the ride in the OC and IE is very comfortable, even in my S-line. Even going over those gravel pits they call 'roads' in the Inland Empire doesn't feel very jarring.

The car's incredible. My 40 minute commute feels like 10".

Lotsa looks. Best was the black/black 650i convertible driver staring at me with a "what the hell is that!" look on his face.

to notice anyone's looks. Although I did get a group of people, at three separate restaurants want to look inside.

Yes, it's been awesome commuting on and off freeways, short sprints from traffic light to traffic light, and breaking pretty much the necks of every person who tries to catch a glimpse of my car as it speeds by.

...paying more for the Audi A5/S5, regardless of currency. So in US dollars they would be paying significantly more than the $58K USD equivalent in Swiss Francs. Just like gas, where in European Countries the avg gas prices per gallon are far higher than the $4.00 avg we are seeing here.

Exactly HOW MUCH more they pay for the A5/S5 has been debated in this forum, because of certain taxes there that we don't have in the US yadda yadda yadda. But there is no doubt that before taxes, they still pay more for this car.

even with a 6MT in traffic - super quiet and smooth as glass - I love this car.

I was wrong!
Even though one can pay everything with Euros (even using the public telephones),people still earn their living in CHF's.
And the price for the S5 is astronomically there.
I was just on the Swiss Audi website, and a nicely loaded S5 with tip costs abut 110,000 CHF.
Since $ and CHF are about equal in value (1:1.1), they really have to pay the equivalent of more than $100K.
Even though the wages in Switzerland are higher than in most other European countries, with the S5 they are getting srewed (or we are getting spoiled).

I just saw Tom Petty in AZ on Wed night. Great show. Do yourself a favor and get there in time to see Steve Winwood open. I was only familiar with him via his 80's hits. He mainly played other songs i was not familiar with but they all sounded great. After seeing that i would definitely see him solo.

TP and his band sounded great as well.

Why on earth would you want people taking pics of you? Give me stealth any day.
