Mine is an Oct 4th order. Last week my dealer left me another apologetic voice message - he actually blamed a lack of available WHEELS for the delay, would be funny if it wasn't so sick.

I'm wondering if my order isn't in the system yet will I be able to add options, I may go for a change of interior. I'm kinda resigned to the delay now, may even buy a fun second hand sports car to help with the wait, maybe even a TT or perhaps one of those Japanese sports convertibles.

I'm hopeful the S5 will be here for late Spring at worst - I was told April back in December, am now assuming May or even June by the tone of his message, although I don't think they know.

As for the real reason for the delays, in my opinion it is Audi deciding to screw US consumers in favor of more profitable destinations.

To be honest if this was a $70k+ car I'd cancel and get something else, perhaps a Cayman (which I still might do, even though its owned by the same parent company.

But the fact is that in the $50K's this car is just a bargain, no wonder they may not be making a profit on it in the US.

It will be interesting to see what they do to pricing for the 09 model. My bet is that it's up 10%.
