Ordered the S5 today. Phantom black/red, TIP, fully loaded.

I am told I will get a build date in about a week, or by the end of the month!

Have you noticed that the TIP is now available on the configurator!

where is your dealer located? That's a pretty optimistic schedule you've received, but I hope you are right. It seems there is more of a backup for 6spds than tips, but they both have the 4.2lv8 which Ive been told is the real backup.

They don't charge for Sprint Blue or Phantom Black (maybe an error)

No charge for the inlays at all??

Strange. Tip prices out $1K less than a 6MT

Plus they have an option for lane departure warning.

Are you sure about this? Ive heard from some people it is, some it isnt. Im not sure they really even know yet. The last time the numbers were published, only the S5 6spd was listed, and it was a GG tax victim. The tip could get slightly better mileage, and since the S5 was on the cusp of getting hit with the tax, you could be right that the Tip avoids it.

Well, I hope you are right. I was already prepared to pay it, so I guess I'll like my Tip even better now. (if it ever arrives)

...until EPA gas mileage is published. It would be safe to assume that it may be slightly less than the Manual as it is the case with S4 Manual vs Tip - $400 difference.

GG tax, if it exists.

My order didnt mention the GG tax as an item, but my dealer wasn't sure and thought it might get tacked on after the car arrives and is paid for.

Makes no sense.....GG Tax is stupid anyway -- like they don't get you enough at the pump!
