How hard was the installation? Could anyone do it with the right tools, or does it require a professional? It seems like the fog light bulb change is pretty easy, but it's not clear if the e-codes are really as plug and play as they seem.
Also, does it throw a warning light only when an LED is in the city-light position? What did you have to do to re-wire it so the side-light would also be illuminated to avoid the error (which can then be covered it seems)?
Thanks in advance Quattrings and everyone else who did this!

the city light 'IS' the side parking light. The side light is empty so there is only one bulb but if you change to an LED, you will get a warning light.
Is that doable? Seen on OEMPLUS it's possible... but is there other complications other than adding sensors and changing the VAGCOM settings?

but do you mean I have to get an extra pair of LEDs to make this work?
I'm confused...I don't have the unit in front of me yet, so I can't just look and figure it out.
Thanks!

Rod or Alvin at MadAudi (where I bought my set) and I'm sure they will have answers too.

Mad Audi

...anything inside there other than the obvious control module and ballast. The projector appears to float inside the lamp assembly, with no obvious removable anchor point.
If someone can figure out remvoing the innards, PLEASE POST PICTURES or describe how you did it. That could be the essential key to a DIY clear corner mod.

I'll try emailing them, though I doubt they will be very responsive since I didn't buy my euro-spec headlamps from them.

Mind posting up a short / brief DIY on this, just for everyone's sanity and peace of mind. Thanks in advance!

I mean, if I'm going to spend 1000$+ just to remove the amber, might as well ahve my headlights move around...

brake lights, turn signals, etc. It gets super hot to the touch and seemed like it was ready to melt down through the car to the center of the earth.
That's the right path though, the system has to be 'tricked' into thinking nothing's wrong.

You can get them pretty much anywhere. They are standard 194 LEDs. I like superbrightleds.com

it seems there is now way to remove the reflector.
I was thinking, if I'm going to replace the whole headlamp assembly, might as well got the adaptive route.
I'm not getting the adaptives in the first place because I'm replacing my current headlamps anyway... Will not pay the premium just for the advanced key and the homelink
FYI tech package in Canada : Adaptives, Advanced key and Homelink (1600$).

There's a whole slew of 194s on the sight...I ordered my trunk and dome leds from them =)
Which one mates best with our headlamps?
Thanks again Quatt, you have no idea how helpful you've been dude; lifesaver.

Win - I went with the WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs because the x6 LED says heat damages the bulb and longevity. You can go with pretty much any on that page though.

of the wavelength color; it was between the cool and warm white, which is roughly what our DRLs are...
Wish our fancy mercury-free D3S bulbs had aftermarket offerings, so we can mate everything spot on, but hopefully, it will start to pop up in the next few months.
