View Full Version : So Road and Track says the RS5 is out in spring 09, with a biturbo V8 FinallyS5 02-11-2008, 03:35 PM I dunno might be nicer than a V10 ibisS5 02-11-2008, 05:06 PM glad im first on the list with the biggest dealler in ohio Reggie 02-11-2008, 05:22 PM :) sizzle 02-11-2008, 05:42 PM sozdemir 02-11-2008, 05:44 PM be available last spring. There's no way they are going to have it out that quick, POSSIBLY LATE 09'. Audi cannot produce the TT, new A4, new S4, new RS6, A5, S5, RS5, R8, Q7, A6, S6, and every combination in between at the same time. I haven't even seen official press releases about it yet. But that would be great if it did! Europa 02-11-2008, 05:58 PM OMG my car isn't subject to the laws of physics. acadia1 02-11-2008, 06:31 PM This is common knowledge it was on Audi's release sheet, which was "accidentally" released. Also, Audi publicly stated that the RS cars would be introduced regularly now for most every model and that would 2 years after a cars release. Audi has stated since 2005 that why BMW and MB out revenued them in some markets because they simply had more products, especially, premium products. Introducing so many new cars is part of the plan to increase revenue and it's working, Audi outsells BMW now in Europe, and both BMW and Mercedes in China owning nearly 70% of the luxury market there. YOu said they can't, and they definitely well can, they are investing nearly $15 billion in new model releases and production by to meet their goal of being the #1 luxury brand in terms of sales by 2015. Anyway, yes, the release of the RS 5 in February '09 is very accurate and as stated already leaked by Audi. Read the new car introduction list, expect 6month to 1 year delay until north american release for these cars, but they will be released Europe etc ... at those times.

http://carofthefuture.blogspot.com/2007/12/audis-car-schedule-leaked.html</a

sozdemir 02-11-2008, 07:15 PM Your logic makes no sense. That sheet has nothing to do with production, you are forgetting that a car is produced at least a year if not years before it is released. If that sheet says Feb 09, add another year before you can buy it. At the very least late 09, probably 2010. There is so much testing involved you don't know about. Roswell 02-11-2008, 07:44 PM they could be testing it now, you don't even know. acadia1 02-11-2008, 07:59 PM Where have you been the RS6 was introduced in Europe several months ago, and so was the B8 A4. The B8 A4 is 2008 model for Europe. The Rs5 will be Feb '09 for Europe, we will likely see it in Fall '09 as '10 model, or maybe following spring/summer as '11 model. But, yes, the world is bigger than the U.S. buddy, they do get alot of cars before us, just because, it's not introduced here doesn't mean you can't purchase it somewhere else. NINEZeRO 02-11-2008, 08:22 PM I love the S5 in every way except the horsepower deficit vs RS4, M3, C63, IS-F, etc. I really wish Audi would have put at least 380-400 in the S5 and just up the RS5 to near 500. FinallyS5 02-11-2008, 09:39 PM funny thing is., you can see the test track on google maps nothign stops google, nothing http://maps.google.com/maps?t=k&hl=en&ll=52.63348,10.781364&spn=0.093973, 0.232086 acadia1 02-11-2008, 11:01 PM IOKEPA 02-11-2008, 11:43 PM how come you're not running any Dunlops (or Goodyears) on your car? Roswell 02-12-2008, 05:52 AM Its one of the best built highways in existence. He wanted to be able to drive tanks on it without causing any damage. Also, it just so happened that it was designed with lots of curves, which makes drivers more attentive, unlike US interstates. German engineers were good, and they had no clue what they were doing. nobody had ever built highways before. It would be way too expensive to build for one car. Bugatti has only sold 90 Veyrons. That track is something like 13 miles. I wouldnt be surprised if all audi's VW's Skoda's and lamborghinis's are tested there also. CT Silver B6S4 02-12-2008, 06:28 AM FinallyS5 02-12-2008, 06:50 AM its lost a huge amount of money, for r&d sozdemir 02-12-2008, 07:43 AM sozdemir 02-12-2008, 07:53 AM I can order a 2011 A4, doesn't mean I'm going to have it tomorrow. The RS6 is going to be available April 2008 in the UK, 6 months from when it was scheduled to roll out according to your sheet, and IF they ever bring to the US it will be sometime in late Fall. Please don't say you can get the car, just because a car has been introduced, does not mean it's available. Therefore when the RS5 has a rollout date of FEB 09, expect it to be here a year later, 2010, IF it ever comes. Be realisitic. sozdemir 02-12-2008, 07:55 AM Europa 02-12-2008, 08:43 AM ... and design talents. It's an exotic flagship for the entire company, so it's a marketing play too. acadia1 02-12-2008, 08:59 AM Stop trying to spin something that really is a moot issue, you can't order a 2011 A4 if you wanted, why because there is no order sheet, there isn't an assembly line to produce, you can order a B8 A4 today if you live in Europe and their will be a production date and assembly line that will put your car together. The same thing goes for the RS 6, those who were first to order will recieve the first cars off the assembly line in April '08. These cars are hand built, they don't just build them and send them to dealers to have sitting around, someone walks in and orders, and then 6 months down the line they receive the car. The RS was orderable back in October of '07, it was still 6 months until your car would be off the assembly line. To be honest I don't really understand what you are arguing or what your point happens to be. As stated the B8 A4 and RS 6 are in production today, and were accurate by that schedule, which was released by Audi the sheet originally appeared on Audi's website, and was quickly pulled down, once it was discovered. Either case, I think you just want to argue to hear yourself argue, about something that is painfully clear here. Moving along. |
