what they really meant is that they didn't feel like it.

... dealerships. The cars have to be inspected and approved for certification under CPO.

For what I've seen that's a trend used by many dealerships now, basically AoA leases the cars to them for a short period, then they can either CPO the car and sell it or return it to AoA... that's why you see all those Meteor/Red demos being sold now.

If the dealership takes the car and CPO it, they set the price based on market...
HOT + Unavailable car = Over Sticker price

... the most obvious is several 'used' R8 selling for something like $160K.

It's a loophole to sell a new car for an otherwise illegally high price.

This may or may not be the case here since we don't know what price is yet. But the A5 is a very hot car right now, and this tactic is used commonly at lesser Audi stealerships on highly desirable models.

So I got flooded with emails about where this car is located.

It is Prime Audi in Westwood, MA.

Car is actually meteor gray and it is their demo model.
Apparently their website is messed up and lies about colors.

The car has SOLD and went for MSRP.

with 2500 miles on it. Not sure they even CPO'd it. What a rip.
