Every time I buy a new car I seek out all the available forums for that make and model. I'm currently a member on about 15 different sites including BMW, Audi, Aston Martin, NSX, Infiniti, Subaru, Acura, and Porsche marques. This by the way is the best Audi resource IMHO. What's interesting is the general tone on the different sites. The Subaru guys talk about rebuilding engines with 200K + miles on them, the NSX guys talk about waxing their cars over and over again (because there is nothing that ever goes wrong with them), the Porsche guys talk about how great their cars are and are constantly comparing them to other cars in an attempt to justify their superiority, the Aston guys talk about how good their detailers are and their last road trip to Le Mans etc. , BMW people are constantly trying to figure out the companies weird model designations while you guys are pretty succinct and to the point. Anyone else notice these differences.

will admit that BMWs are great cars, they simply chose to drive an Audi. I think Audi drivers are generally more self-confident in their choice without having to justify it to outsiders.

This site is good if you are American but its not that great for those outside of the US. I prefer the A5OC forums as they have a more worldwide presence, it uses vbulletin and has more posts on the A/S5. However, I still check this one frequently just in case.

Had them. Currently drive a 2007 Aston Martin V8 in the summer and an Infiniti G35 coupe with snows in the winter. The G is just a little sketchy in the snow so I am awaiting delivery of a Brilliant Black/Magma red, stainless steel and loaded S5. The Audi seems like the obvious choice for a Canadian Winter to fight the usual blahs!

I'll let you know. I've had the Aston on the track a couple of times and it handles very impressively (also drove it to 165 mph on the Ford high speed oval!). The big debate has been with it's power which I think is adequate, comparable with a 997 S but certainly not a 997TT. But OMG the looks, there is absolutely no angle you can look at this car from and not say wow! Mine is Mercury silver with a Black Cherry interior BTW.

my father has an Elise and i get it serviced there. the Astons are by far the best looking cars on the road, i can't wait just to see a DBS... Although i'll probably never see one on the road.
By the numbers though, the S5 performs well, and I just can't justify the Aston. I love the note of the Astons though, what a sound. and the gauges? stunning.
Are you trading your G for the S5? you'll love it. perfect daily driver for those of us without much luggage. I just clicked over 3600 miles on mine. Pretty fun, i'm at a wedding in and there's a bunch of Actors/Writers from California and a few have complimented my car, I gave Steve Hytner a ride in it today. (He's been in Seinfeld and a few other TV shows) Good guy

My G35 goes off lease in April. I ordered the S5 two weeks ago and I am hoping it will arrive around end April. I also ordered my wife a Brilliant Black A6 Avant (that's what she wanted after all the test drives) as her MDX is also off lease in April. The reason I bought an Audi is it was difficult going from the Aston to the Infiniti on a day to day basis due to the poor quality of the Infiniti interior and the harsh ride. Audi interiors are the best I have seen in this price range (way better than BMW IMO) and the ride is way more composed, firm but not "booming and crushing". You spend most of your time looking at the interior so that's important to me. There are a lot of guys with Astons whose second cars are Audis.
BTW Roswell, Thanks for all of your feedback on the car, it's guys like you who make these forums worthwhile.
