View Full Version : How is everyone performing their breakin? Gibber 12-23-2007, 01:07 PM RobHS5 12-23-2007, 02:46 PM I've only exceeded it a few times. Less than 100 miles to go, then time for fun. chuckstyl5 12-23-2007, 03:18 PM Just out of curiousity .. How many of you actually perform the whole break-in thing??? If something happens its under warranty right???? DC AUDIS5 12-23-2007, 05:48 PM Did that on my S4. Three years and 32k miles later, it has been a (knock on wood until my S5 comes in) trouble-free car. JScottC 12-23-2007, 06:09 PM It's a pain, but I'd hate to create some long-term problem by not breaking it in. chuckstyl5 12-23-2007, 07:14 PM i used to work Mercedes and my experience with them is if you "drive it like you stole" there were problems with the rings setting in the cylinders .. causing oil consumption problems so when the cars came in the tech just set them by doing 3500-5000 rpm for an hour .. now i work for ferrari and people dont drive these cars that much but when they do ... they beat them -- i know ferrari is a different animal but running hard from the begining i believe has no effect later -- just my 2 cents cant wait till my s5 gets in :) johnz 12-24-2007, 08:55 AM That is exactly 100 MPH. Went over 1000 KM yesterday on the way to Koln. Heavy traffic so only saw 125 MPH. But still have 2 more days :) |
