Long time viewer, first time Audi buyer. Took delivery of my S5 at 9:07 pm CST 12/2007. I still cannot believe I own this car!! The smile on my face keeps getting bigger.

My car is identical. Also, regarding your inactive button- read from a few days ago.. Boston Driver activated my button. I'm also a first time Audi buyer and the vag com computer hookup is new to me, but ask around in your area for someone to help you out.. Unless of course you just buy it for yourself.

No I didn't order it. Just walked into the dealer and purchased the last Phantom Black in the country! (after negotiating of course!)

Phantom/Alcantara/tech/nav/b&o/carbon

I think the dealerships were all shipped "extra" Phantom/black/stainless/loaded cars at around the same time the demo cars (Meteor and Magma) were delivered. Thus, lotsa buzz created by the demo car, and then surprise! The black car shows up and it's available. I had a Daytona Grey car in the order bank but jumped on the Phantom car.

So congrats!

I talked with my sales rep and he said he didn't know about it. But during his 30 minute run through he said it worked???? He said he'll have to talk to the service manager about software upgrades. But based on the string you mentioned, it doesn't sound good. I'm not about to mess with codes and such, as I think you shouldn't have to with a $60K car!

I have more than enjoyed every minute I've owned this car. Seems like a dream really. Started reading about the car a couple months ago, and now its in my garage! I've never been able to say that before.

With a new car in demand like this, I'm curious as to how much/what you negotiated in the deal. I'm keen on getting one of these myself, but the waiting list/demand and therefore inability to negotiate is making me hesitate. Any tips, anyone?
