Factory oil is a 5W-30, and is reported to either be Castrol Edge or Fuchs Titan GT1.

I was at Inskip last week and they mentioned you sent yours off after 1000 miles to have some oil formulated for your RS4

I'm not particularly 'rough' on my cars, but I obviously care about performance and want whatever's best. Where did you sent it, and what are you using now?

Thanks

Sorry I didn't see this.

The oil that I had custom formulated is from Renewable Lubricants. I know have 35K miles on my RS4, 20K of which is with Renewable Lubricants oil. From day 1 I had Terry Dyson http://www.dysonanalysis.com analyze my oil. Once we found issues with the Audi FSI engine, he worked with me on finding a suitable oil. When we couldn't find an Audi 502 oil that performed well, I had Terry work with Bill Garnier of Renewable Lubes, to develop the best possible oil for these engines. The result is our 5W-40 oil. You can find the specs on the oil on the following website. It's the Bio-Synthetic Super High Performance SAE 5W40 HD Used by RI_RS4

It can be ordered from this link:

This oil will reduce your engine wear by a minimum of 3:1 and is suitable for at least 7500 to 10K mile oil change intervals and track use. In the time that I've been using their oil, they have been tweeking the formulation, based on all of the analysis that the RS4 community has done.
