That's a pretty serious little car, and very low production... I think the RS5 will probably compete with the "normal" AMG 63 CLK

I'm sorry but the only thing that can get me excited about a CLK would be a complete re-design.

name has been reduced to pretty much water since every model in the line-up has an AMG model. They had to create "The Black Edition" name to even make a wave this time around...

... the RS 5 will cost half the price, have all 4 seats intact, and be available at higher volumes. This CLK63 will hardly be a direct competitor.

I'm sure Audi can create an A5-based car that would compete with this 'Black' car, but why bother? Audi already has the far more compelling R8.

car... they'll probably make it again, once this run is over... IMO, what really differentiates the CLK 350 vs A5 (3.2) and the CLK 550 vs. S5, is the availability of both a manual and AWD in the Audi models... that kicks some serious buttocks.

B5 S4 and S8 in 2000-2001, I always liked that they were "rare" compared to BMW M3's or 750iL's. Now you have to move to the RS to have that rare exclusivity. AMG is becoming the same way. A shame, but will never detour me from buying another S!
