Arrgh...so the S5 won't be available in the US until MAY 2008? Not so good since my lease is up in Dec. So they debut the S5 in the beginning of MArch, and then not available in the US for 14 months? WTF?
Not sure I want to drive my beater truck for 5 months. Damn.
I guess a CPO RS4 is looking better every day.
Damn you Audi. Yeah, its "unprecedented" to debut the standard and "S" versions together all right...what they don't stress is that it doesn't matter, because you can't get one anyway.
Sorry, just venting.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/audi-a5-geneva-first-impression/">http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/audi-a5-geneva-first-impression/</a</li></ul>

And, is the automatic going to be the best one in the world by far, DSG 7-speed? Or, is it going to be one of the worst automatics in the world, tiptronic 6-speed?

Or at least they don't take us very seriously. All the hype about launching simultaneously and then this. Hope Audiworld is mistaken, but I can't remember the last time that they reported bad intel. Gently used RS4 looks like the car to get...

The manual S5 will launch simultaneously with the manual A5 in November, with the auto S5 coming 6 months later in May 08.

After waiting, watching and hoping all this time you stick it to us again. If there is no S5 in 2007 then you should have stated this from the start, instead of yanking our chains.

TT lease expires in October, and the S5 was looking as if it was going to time out just right. Now I'm in your same boat - most likely searching for a CPO RS4 (not that that's a bad option either).

to all the speculation going around. AW needs to correct their info because it really threw a lot of us off. In fact, I just sold my C6 this week in prepartation for (specifically) the S5. The 14 month wait sounded bad, and I wasn't sure what model I would get to replace it or even if I would stay with Audi had that been true. Glad you cleared it up for us.

Guess that part of it didn't register in my cranium. He also said that the A5s are already being sold in Europe (No Lie). It never fails me, every time I go to a car dealer they always find a way to BS me about something. But yeah, I should have kept my mouth shut.
