Not sure where they got their info but, Carfolio.com says...
"The S5 is also marginally heavier than the RS4 (1650 kg versus 1630 kg)."
"The front wheel drive 3.2 A5 weighs in at 1495 kg, and the quattro version just 40 kg more, at 1535 kg."
If true, I think that makes S5 230 lbs lighter than the S4. Sounds good to me!

Carfolio.com

Contradicting themselves slightly, on their S5 spec page, they say the S5 is 1630 kg (3594 lbs).
I think the RS4 is 1650 kg, so that points to the S5 being 1630 kg, and that the text in the article is backwards.
So that would make the S5 275 lbs lighter than the S4?

Carfolio.com S5 page

but oddly, the published performance figures have been virtually identical.

Most magazines measure with a full fuel tank so this adds about 125 pounds.

... which add up to hundreds of saved pounds over the US spec RS 4.

So estimated fuel efficiency is about 5% better than the current S4?

Hi Carfolio here
Yes, we mixed up the weights when compiling the article, thanks for pointing that out, it has been corrected. To the original poster, the information comes straight from Audi.

Click here. But hoping that it gains less weight while it is on the ship to America as the S4 gains 209 pounds. I think at least half comes from empty gas tank/full gas tank. But I am not sure.

All The Weights That You Want

not sure where the extra weight comes from, but it's more than just the obvious stuff.
