Hope they are wrong on the DSG timing?

2007 Geneva Auto Show: Audi's DSG is coming to the A5/S5 coupes -- eventually

Audi invited a group of U.S. journalists to a roundtable discussion with Rupert Stadler, chairman of Audi AG's board of management, and Scott Keogh, chief marketing officer for Audi of America, this morning at Geneva's Palexpo. A few tidbits:

-The A5's new chassis design isn't just a single platform. It's a modular structure that will not only underpin the next A4 and A6, but can potentially be adapted for other vehicles within the VW group as well.

-Audi is working on a version of its dual-clutch sequential manual transmission (aka, the DSG) that will be packageable with the longitudinally mounted engines in the A5/S5, A4/S4/RS4, and so on. But Mr. Stadler didn't want to get specific about timing. We're guessing it's at least a couple years out.

-An RS5 coupe will definitely follow the A5 and S5 to market. But again, Mr. Stadler wouldn't commit to a date. After the discussion, we were presented with an Audi RS4 pen with the proviso that we not scratch out the "4" and write in a "5." --Erin Riches, Senior Content Editor

and ESP system is a matter of deciding what qualities they wish to give it. In that there has been debate.

So, how about a change DSG programm option in the MMI???
Making it a feature, instead of a discussion.

Cheers

... just around the corner, with S-tronic being offered on the A5's second year at the very latest.

They've delayed their launch, and the rumours are that the DSG can't take the torque.

The Veyron DSG was a one-off, costing 60,000 sterling each. Once Porsche announces the launch date, Audi may follow suit.
