One I have experience with on reliable info indicated they should have final US specs this Friday or latest Monday with their feeling that DSG is still a possibility, TIP with paddle shifters very likely. No finals on pricing but indicated my fears of s-line at mid/upper 50's may be high. Fingers crossed--I prefer the auto due to heavy freeway driving, etc. (Be kind) He does caution nothing is firm but speculation should be over soon.
Indicated photo leak came from company doing the brochures and that Audi is still holding back announcements for the Geneva show, hence DSG may still be on table, etc.
Cheers.

Once they were leaked Audi followed up pretty quickly with more pics and press releases. It's already on audiusa's website. Launch cars will probably be 6-speed manual (and CVT for the diesel) until DSG is ready for this platform.

....then reposted here by GermanA4Driver
http://forums.audiworld.com/a5/msgs/337.phtml
then I reposted them to Audizine and found more on different EU forums.
All those pictures came from unsecured Audi.de media library. Next morning they were in panic, closing all possible links, but that didn't help :D lol
Pictures were reposted almost an every related forum.

Yes, it does seem the "evidence" is contrary to what I was told. However, I guess it is an "empirical question" on USA specs that will be answered shortly. I will share the contrary evidence with my "source" and see what he has to say--should be interesting.

Audi has never leaked any images from their previous cars, only teaser shots like what you seen in the A5 microsite, RS4, R8, etc.
Even their A5 microsite commented that it would be unveiled at a later date and well, photos were leaked, time for damage control
And Audi is on purpose holding back some crucial information to keep the anticipation there, or what's left.

that were posted I was saving them from audi.de. Maybe the ad agency uploaded them too soon, or told someone about the location, but they were absolutely hosted on an audi website.

I work with big manufacturers and financial companies and there is no way in the world that you will pass QA and Legal department uploading anything on company servers.
And in correct wording ...pictures were not leaked but some guy on german forum was scanning folders for wallpapers, he switched few letters to see if A5 material is there and luckily subfolders were not protected. So in real the only person responsible for that is server admin and IT dept from Audi.

yes ...those are real colors straight from Audi konfigurator :D
And what is even more interesting you can choose custom color for additional EU 2,500
it doesn't make any sense that they would leak it.
it's possible that someone at audi mistakenly put the images in a public folder, but i don't think it was on purpose.

Given the earlier miss I was very skeptical on his info. However, they (his manager) called up the food chain and were told an automatic option would not be available at launch but targeted for November delivery. Who knows!
He did say they gave him nothing definitive on DSG. For me, the likely price for a loaded S5 in the mid 50's or up will make it hard to skip some other options. If DSG perhaps, if all those interior options will result in an interior that matchs the home run they hit with the exterior.
Perhaps I should just buy and chip the loaded 2004 2.7t Sline rather than turn in at lease end--lot cheaper.

... anybody that has a keen eye I suppose, such as, they understand how the existing photos are stored for the other models, it's pretty easy to then figure out how to guess at the links to these other photos.
And the naming convention for those A5/S5 photos on audi.de, it's pretty easy to figure out with some trial and error:
