View Full Version : any inof on expected pricing? I suspect it will be close to A6 pricing - anyone agree? Reggie 02-25-2007, 05:20 PM Longwolf (Christian) 02-25-2007, 05:24 PM Best quote I have seen here so far is that it will be offer 3 series performance for 5 series price. I am also afraid that will be true.... Reggie 02-25-2007, 06:38 PM and why I asked about the weight Audi S5 TC 02-25-2007, 07:51 PM Also half way between 3 Series and CLK. dopevector 02-25-2007, 08:02 PM Using MSRP's from cars.com: 07 A4 $36.4k S4 $47.5k 06 A4 $35.3k S4 $46.4k 05 (B7) A4 $35.4k S4 $46.1k 04 A4 $33.2k S4 $45.6k So the biggest price hike of $2.2k came between 04 and 05 when the B6 to B7 transitioned in. The BMW 335i coupe is a $1.9k price hike over the sedan. Now if this really is being treated as an A4 coupe, then I'd expect no more than a $2.5k jump for the new platform and $2k for the coupe version. That would put the A5 3.2 at $40.9k base MSRP. If the S5 jumps the same amount, that would put it at $52k, although it hasn't historically jumped as much between model changes, so it may come in nearer to $50k. All conjecture obviously, but that would put the base price of the A5 right in the ball park of the 335i. The S5 would be a bit above the last M3's pricing, I'm not sure what the new one is supposed to be priced at. *shrug* Maybe I'm being optimistic with these figures, but that seems reasonable. You'll still have to make a choice between the performance advantage the 335i offers vs what is in my mind a vastly superior exterior and interior. Both are very nice cars with their own pros and cons. EXELR8 02-26-2007, 03:37 AM Longwolf (Christian) 02-26-2007, 05:11 AM |
