I had to say something, hopefully to other sympathetic ears.

I've got about 4 weeks left, departing 9/29 for delivery on 10/01.

BTW, what did you end up finalizing for your trip details?

Yet I ordered on the same day as you, I think (July 16th). I was told the waits for the S6 are longer; not clear why.

My big worry is the weather in Bavaria in mid-November. If it snows (and my research suggests it can snow then), the OEM Contis on the S6 will spell certain disaster.

and high-def in-cockpit video if I can find a site to host it.

I do a fair bit of travel for my job. Alot of that is international. I was going to use miles to go over, but I told a European colleague about the car and the delivery over there.

We need to meet with a company in Germany up near Koln. So he scheduled the meeting for the friday before my pickup. So, now I won't need to use miles. My company will buy me a business class ticket, and I'll earn some more instead. 1.2M and counting.

But now the trip is complex. Fly to Amsterdam on 10/10-10/11, have a meeting near Koln on 10/12, Get to Munich (not sure how yet, probably ICE high-speed rail), pickup the car on 10/15, burn lots of gas in the Alps, dropoff the car in Munich on 10/19, fly to Lisbon, present at a conference, fly back to Amsterdam 10/25, meeting in Amsterdam 10/26, 10/27 fly to Malaysia, 10/29-10/30 teach training course in Kuala Lumpur, 10/31 fly back to Houston.

Oh, and now they're making noises about a meeting in Tokyo, since I'll "be in the area" on the way home.

At least, like Phileas Fogg, I'll gain a day going round that direction.

because the RS4 was not in the computer for ED, but is eligible, so they had to call it in to AudiUSA over the phone. The confusion took the dealer from 7/12 until 7/16 to get straightened out.

4 months is a long wait. Not that I need to tell you.

You might not be able to drive the isolated mountain twisties, but the main roads should be fine, and who knows, the snow-covered Alps might be even nicer.

Remember the old 80's quattro commercial?<ul><li><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6WYTSTRUR8">commercial</a></li></ul>
