Please recommend one. I briefly scanned this forum and got the basic understanding of the process, but want to talk to a real person explaining it to me in details. I need ED as additional leverage to convince my wife about an anti-family vehicle: TT. She approves R32 and A3 (I don't like either), so I'm fairly close... :) I think I'll finally win, as her sister lives in Germany, and she obviously wants to visit her...

Anyway, recommend me a good SoCal dealer. I also have a couple of questions about your experience:

1. Did all of you pay MSRP minus 5%? I'd definitely try to get a "normal" US deal ($1K over for TT), then apply 5%.

2. How does it work with trade-ins? You leave your car at the dealer during the first visit? Or later during the payment in full? If they do take it initially before the contract is signed, do you get a check from them or it counts as your deposit?

3. As with any custom orders how do you lock the price you agreed on? Is there any "preliminary contract" with all the numbers: the new car price, trade-in/downpayment, fees, etc. Maybe it's unreasonable paranoia, but I'm worried about seeing different numbers when coming to sign the contract.

1. I paid MSRP - 5%, but RS4's are going for MSRP, if they have any...in Houston anyway...except for a certain yellow '07, which they can't give away.

2. I didn't trade anything. I put a deposit, and will pay them in full next month. I have the quote in writing, and they cashed the deposit check. In Texas that's a contract.

3. I got a copy of the price writeup/quote. Time will tell if they want to change it, but I'm not worried.
