I'm in the process of finalizing my travel arrangements, and was planning to drop off the car back in Munich on Friday 10/12. What all is involved that process and how long does it take? Would it be feasible to drop off the car early that morning and still have time to make an afternoon flight back to the states, or would I be better off flying out the next day?

I haven't done mine yet, but I think it'll take less than an hour. I called and scheduled with TT Transit in Nice for my drop off at 4pm, and they close at 5pm.

looking over the car before they took it. I took some pictures for my visual prrof just incase damage happened while in transit, and do not forget to take your front plate off. They have been known not to disappear while in transit. I took mine off and loaded it into our baggage. You will still need to keep the rear one on for I.D. purposes.......but who want a square euro plate?

Depending on your flight time you should have no problem if you drop you car off first thing and get to the airport. If you have time make sure to check out the Audi Forum at the Munich airport. I was able to peer inside but our flight was before they opened on our particular trip.
