Anybody knows how to retrofit a bluetooth module into an R8 that didn't come with one?

Specific parts? VAGCOM usage?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I did that for the A4. It should be the same since it is the same RNS-E navi. Check the navplus.us forum. The links I have no longer work, the threads might have been moved, but the RNS-E direct link is http://www.navplus.us/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10

Best of luck!

Without bluetooth is fine, without navi is what puzzles me...

Hence I suppose it can be done. I'll have to see with the parts guy at Audi.

I ordered mine without navigation. I expect that in a year or two that the navigation system on this or any other car will be seen as a quaint useless relic compared to what you can get in external devices, costing 1/5 or 1/10 the price.

I didn't know about this. Anyway, I suspect that if you do a search on navplus.us or directly in a search engine, using "retrofitting+bluetooth+Audi R8" as the key terms you will definitely come across something useful.

The extra thousand ($1800 in Canada) was not the point. The point is that I want the best nav system I can get, and I don't think the embedded systems will keep pace with what I can get in standalone systems. I don't want an obsolete piece of electronics in my car a couple of years from now.
