finally got a chance to post our photos from the 24 hours of le mans. i can honestly say i've never seen anything quite like it and can hardly wait to go back for 2009...just hope the Peugeot team returns!
280K people way into the festivities. watching the cherry red brakes glowing and fire breathing cars rip around the Porsche curves...night racing is something any race fan should see! Other highlights beyond the incredible race itself include seeing RS6 Avants floating around the scene, the number of toy car vendors (what's up with that?) and the trophy ceremony.
One of the highlights not documented in this album (all i had was my video camera at the moment it happened) was the Audi sponsored R8 driving experience starting at 1am at the le mans airport runway with the race raging in the background...pretty surreal all the way around to be ripping down a runway course in the middle of the night with a professional driver...getting to experience the limits of the R8 from the passenger seat with a few too many beers in the belly.
If you've not had the opportunity to see the v12 Diesel prototype in person...i gotta say it's pretty ghetto...all the chrome and bling? after spending at least an hour looking at it from all sides...I would offer that it would look amazing with a more understated skin tone...just my $.02
anyway...thought you'd enjoy! if you are a racing fan get out to le mans and experience it...nothing compares.
