I've tried 5, maybe 6 times, by now and still no luck. I have a revolving code garage door system, but I programmed my '08 A6 Avant with no problem.

Has anyone successfully programmed a revolving code garage door for their R8 Homelink? If so... Where did you point the remote?

The instruction manual says 0-6 inches from the bumper (and the picture shows you aiming it at the left side of the front-grill), and then the next step says directly under the driver-side headlight. Considering you should be within 6 inches, that means that if you're on either side of the headlight and you're on the "wrong" side, then you're too far away since the headlight is about 14 inches wide...

I stood right in front of the driver's side headlight and went through the motions as laid out by the manual.

Do you happen to have a second or third hand held transmitter available to you? You might consider using another one instead of the one you've been working with.

I had similar issues w/the Homelink setup in my RS 6 and a different transmitter ended up working. Who knows why...

you need access to the garage door control system. put it in "teach" mode and then follow instructions in manual.

Yep, it is a rolling code, but I never get past the first confirmation before you're supposed to put it in learning mode... I'm stuck at step 1.

Thanks, tried another one but still no luck. Will see what the dealer can think of unless there are any other suggestions...

I have an all wireless system and so I pulled the main unit off the wall, put a new battery in it, and used that and still no luck. Slowly moved it across the headlight and eventually got it.

Looks like the sweetspot is right at the center-side extent of the driver's headlight.
