Wondering if Audi plans to increase production of current and future R8 to meet the high demand? Maybe a dealer or insider can find out. I really love the new R8 but cannot see any valid reason to pay 50k over sticker price for one. Especially when I can buy a 1 year old Lambo Gallardo for that price.

When I was at the factory in March and took the R8 tour they mentioned that the production facility was not near capacity and they could up production quite a bit before reaching capacity. I think it was something like an additional 50%, which they said would give the capacity needed to produce the V10 version without decreasing the amount of V8's made.

Sat in a new R8 today and love the car. Asked Audi specialist about production and he told me that Audi plans to build more cars for US market in future in V8 and V10 engines.
