I heard/read good things about the egear tranny in the new Gallardo LP-560. Most reports say it shifts very quickly and more smoothly. So any idea if the R-tronic will get the same updates?

It's an Audi.

Gallardo spider will continue to use the old engine and tranny, as the new powerplant is not compatible with the old chassis and vice versa. So my guess is the V8 R8 will not get an updated box.

But I would also bet the V10 is the same as the new 560 motor, detuned, with the new tranny.

And just who do you think owns Lamborghini? R8 uses the Gallardo tranny.

Let me look at the tranny on my R8 and I'll get back to you.
