25k in addition to msrp over invoice and not having to sit on an expensive car.

Being an R8 dealer is actually a substantial investment. You have to prove to Audi that you have the facilities and have an R8 certified tech. It's a 100 grand comment that comes out of the dealer's pocket.

We have 10 orders in the bank with only 8 cars guaranteed...

...given the 6-speed/R-tronic sales breakdowns I've seen. Why are you ordering them that way?

My R8 delivered at MSRP by Suncoast Audi. Why deal with these rip off merchants who gouge on new sales. Audi USA should cut their allocations

tended to be a bit more hard core technical geeks and knew exactly what they wanted. On one hand more work, but on the other hand, less likely to buy something else if the wait was too long.

Less likely to be flippers either, since when they go to sell the car, the potential audience won't be as large.

Obviously this is a huge generalization, and does not encompass everyone.

so you won't even be servicing them.

Luckily the one good thing they did was hire an Audi fanatic like me. I'm a car guy that sells cars not a car salesman. We also don't have enough cultured individuals to appreciate what the R8 is. I hear a lot of "420hp? That's it?" and "I could buy a Vette for half that"

It's a double edged sword. If we didn't and they were more readily available they'd depreciate more. Be thankful most do, not hateful, be grateful you paid what you paid.

FYI dealers in Chicago are 40K over.
