Well after 15 years and 45K miles the Dino is off to a new home tomorrow in Maryland. It's quite a bittersweet feeling as the car has been something I've loved and a few times hated. It has given me many miles of enjoyment specially on Hillclimbs, track days, and most of all Hwy 1 from Muir Beach to Jenner. I'm going to miss it tremendously!

My wife, daughter and I went out to dinner tonight and my 14 year old daughter took these photos of me in the Dino while riding shotgun in the R8.

Hope you enjoy...

With two in college and one more to go, all three of them daughters, it's just frivolous to have 3 V8's, one V6 and two 4 bangers begging for attention!

I still will have a soft spot for the V8 Dino as it's really one of the best handling Ferrari's ever built. Perhaps I'll shop for another down the line but now its time to part with this one and let someone else be the caretaker... With 34 years, 89K miles and even though the motor is new, it will require a mindful owner.

I still have to say : I don't understand why traded the Dino for a B8 S4

I saw your post over at RS6 about how much you like driving the car at dusk! No kidding man. While driving last night in front of the R8, I couldn't stop looking in my mirrors at the sinister menace those leds give off at sunset. No wonder people pull out of the way whenever or wherever I drive this car. Driving the R8 creates openings on the road like Moses parting the Red Sea!
One thing I noticed while racing Lyn up 101 last night. The R8 doesn't need to be lowered. Watching the tires tucked in about a half an inch from the wheels wells and sometimes even a little closer, I can't imagine slamming this car 1 inch lower. I had considered it but now after seeing the car move I know it would be doing some rubbing if pushed , like at a track day.
speaking of such... are you going to do one?

And in regards to the Dino. It's time for someone else to take care of it. I am no longer twisting a wrench for the fun of it. And with that car it was becoming APITA!

too busy for tracking it, though sebring opportunities abound just down the street.

i have attended a few new car club meetings (the local audi chapter is lifeless) and i may be doing a top speed police escorted drive with a local exotic club.

i may do a track event when the tires have about 50% life left so i can finish them off...

Seen it here, seen it listed in ferrariads.

Glad to hear it will be coming to my side of the country! Maybe I'll see it in Richmond later in the year (Classics on the James).

Best regards,

-J.
