Anyone taken the Audi Driving Experience 2 day program at Sears Point, now Infineon?
Having more than a few questions about the wisdom of a pending R8 purchase, I'm thinking of spending the money to take a protracted HPDE test drive in the car. I'll be out there the 13th for the Monday/Tuesday 14th-15th session.

We had a customer (from AZ) take delivery of his R8 at Audi Stevens Creek to specifically attend this event in March. He said it was wonderful.
Having attended and hosted HPDE events in the past, I can safely say at they are well worth the money. If this is your first high-performance vehicle, it will really give you a sense for the capabilities of the car and of yourself.
In short, do it!

Fantastic experience. The half day was so good that I can only expect the full 2-day to be spectacular. First class all the way. In our half-day we only got one 4-lap experience in the R8 but it was enough to totally sell me on the car (which is now in my garage!)
The 2-day is pricey for sure, but when you figure out the wear/tear on car/tires, insurance, gas, instructors, etc. I really dont think they are making any money there. 100% worth it. Enjoy!! I cant wait until July when we go back!
I've done the 2-day program in the R8. If your goal is to get seat time in the car to see how you like it then it's great. If you're looking for driving instruction then there are much better choices.
I think the 1-day program is enough to experience the car and walk away very satisfied. I did the 2-day program because I was also looking to get more track time at Infineon.

My R8 will be here in 3-4 weeks and I did the course awhile back. I learned more than enough in one day that the R8 is one of the best sports cars I've ever driven.
I've done around one thousand miles on the track over the last 20 years and the staff was very talented and got everyone in my group up to speed quickly. Their main point was exactly that... get driving fast early and continue to build up speed throughout the day.
Highly recommended!

I'm also looking for the track time at Infineon. I've never been there, and will be back in late May for four days in the new Russell FJR-50's, so ..... knowing a bit more about the track would be a plus. This way I can self-justify the 2 day R8 program as killing two birds with one stone.

If you get a chance let me know how the FJR experience goes. They certainly looked awesome out on the track April 14-15th. I'll be back there May 20th-23rd. Coincidentally (or not), I was informed by the dealer last week, May 20th could be the arrival week for my R8. It was released from the factory in Neckarlsum for shipping April 15th while I was in the process of pounding around Infineon in the ADE mules.
I was having my doubts about keeping with the order, but after two days on the track with the ADE R8's I'm pretty sold on taking one if I can otherwise put together the money for it. For an out-of-the box car, these things are phenominal on the track. PHENoMINAL!
Cheers
I had to reschedule and chose the May dates. I'll see you there, ask around for Kevin.
