View Full Version : V-10 Twin Turbo, as they say at the end of the article, hope it's not an April Fools joke! sTTickman 04-01-2008, 09:08 AM

v-10 TT

John J Szobocsan 04-01-2008, 01:53 PM The R8 V10 will probably be priced lower than this to maintain status of Lamborghini. Let the guesses begin! sparkhill 04-01-2008, 02:41 PM It would make for one very tempting vehicle. Songer 04-01-2008, 03:33 PM I read a while back that heat issues were too difficult to manage and the V10 would be normally aspirated. I would prefer it without the turbo, but this is pretty cool news. CBS4 04-01-2008, 04:38 PM needs to run on a minimum of 93 Octane gas. So unless Audi AG can get around this problem then this engine will never make it here. joe@vwvortex 04-01-2008, 05:18 PM and not with detuned numbers either. chewym 04-01-2008, 08:59 PM it's an equivalent of a 230 hp 2.0T I think it should be ok with 91 R8Ten 04-01-2008, 11:06 PM What octane rating are you talking about? In Europe they use the "research octane number" (RON) and in the US we use the average of RON and the "motor octane number" (MON). Euro 93 RON is easy to obtain here. Euro 95 RON = 90 to 91 US. I can get US 93 anywhere. That would be what, maybe 98 to 100 Euro? CBS4 04-02-2008, 09:25 AM the pistons. That's what I was told and that's good enough for me; whether Audi AG can resolve that issue remains to be seen. RS4-2007 04-02-2008, 09:32 AM I don't believe this posting.... CarbonFibre 04-03-2008, 03:53 AM for a naturally aspirated V10 R8. They make the Lambo move upmarket a little in horsepower and new styling so that a lesser powered V10 R8 makes more sense. I've read this biturbo news too, but we'll see what happens. It would certainly be puzzling to put a biturbo V10 with 580 horsepower in the car when their V10 can make 560 horsepower without all the extra plumbing and weight (although the torque on the turbo motor is obviously going to be superior). crespo 04-03-2008, 07:53 AM CarbonFibre 06-04-2008, 06:22 PM |
