Zerin, Jack, Matt and Myself took the Audi R8 and new Dodge Viper out to Houston Motorsport Ranch a few weekends back...it was a wonderful experience at a top notch facility. Enjoy!<ul><li><a href="http://www.speedsportlife.com/2008/03/26/supercar-saturday-part-one-running-the-r8-and-viper-against-the-clock-at-msr-houston/">Link</a></li></ul>

Great article. It convinced me to select the new tire option for 2009 - (305/285). I look forward to the next installment.

"Poor vettes, Porsches, Ferraris and Audi R8's. The Viper is so far superior now that they can't compete, except against each other. They'll have to go back to the drawing board and build ALL new cars if they want to play in modified or stock 08 Viper class. Lol.

Wonder if it was the vettes or Porsches they thought the R8 would be able to beat? Obviously this article clears up the standings about R8 and Vipers. A few guys here and on the alley actually had thoughts that an R8 was competition for the Viper. Since even with all the electronic crap (that some think improves driving) turned off the R8 can't even make a G on a flat corner!!! I think even the vette will kill the R8.

About time someone actually stated the obvious.

The times I've seen a Viper attend driving school, they seem to spend most of the time spinning out. Funniest was seeing a MK III Jetta 2.0 going around a Viper over and over at Streets of Willow. It's one thing for the car to have potential, but quite another to find out if the driver has the potential to match;-)

600HP and no support at all but the 345s out back is not an easy thing to master...I was with "Mr. Roboto" the first time he took the Viper out and it was an interesting experience of finding the limit, getting the car to rotate and sometimes going a bit past the maximum in each of the catagories...=p

"The Viper represents challenge. You might get tired of being stared at every time you fill up, you might grow weary of hearing people talking about your mid-life crisis, you might even come to dislike the smell of hot fiberglass which greets you at the end of every session - but you will never, ever, grow weary of driving this car as it was meant to be driven."
