Anyone experience anything that resembles a thud, somewhere in the back of the car? Any ideas what it could be?

Occassionally, I also hear a thud. It happens when I'm shifting fast (manual) at high revs. I release the clutch and then I hear a the thud a moment later. It seems to be related to the clutch engagement, but I really don't know what it is.

Hmm...it has happened at high revs IN manual(the sound was not heard in auto), but it has also happened at low speed, during parking. Shifting from 1st gear to Reverse, the thud could be heard.

Strange. It would be at least unpleasant if one of the metal thingies that keeps the engine in place would be loose.
