"The "Market Introduction" cars will be for display/demo purposes. Typically, Audi requires the dealer to hold these cars for at least 4 months. Most dealers will get between 1-2 Demo cars which are scheduled for the first 7 weeks of production only. That said, these are cars that the dealer will order for their own inventory: inventory that they will inevitably sell them down the line. The reason why you don't want to push to place an order based on the "Market Intro" Order Guide is because a new Order Guide will be released late April, which may offer more options. You also don't want to look at your car on the showroom floor for 4 months while the general public sits in it to see if they like it. Believe me; everyone's going to want to sit in it! Your dealer will maintain the same list order and allocation as they do now, regardless of when an order is placed, as production doesn't begin for a few months. We'll see if all participating Audi dealers comply and hold their demo R8's for the specified term."

This seems to fit with the current Order Guide.

Rick:
This is an alarming heads up for those of us who are #1
on their dealer's list.
Can the manufacturer really enforce such an unreasonable
reqirement?
What is your guess about the reaction of the loyal Audi
customers who put in orders and placed deposits many
moons ago, in 2006?
