View Full Version : Math is not my friend, but I wonder what the monthly would be on a 48-month lease for an R8...

given a US price of around $110k. And, would a dealer even do that? Anyone leasing this baby?

I typically wouldn't sign on to a lease for that long, but for this car I would! It's a keeper.

money factors either, so it would be whatever was the going rate at the time. Perhaps some specialty leasing companies would also offer something for the car. US Bank, etc. Also, sometimes the longer lease does not make sense compared to a shorter term that may have payments similar or lower.

To get some idea of the numbers, trying splitting the A8 W12 and S8 rates as a baseline. See calculator in link below.

24 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 43% - .00503 Money Factor
36 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 34% - .00503 Money Factor
48 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 26% - .00523 Money Factor

Lower MSRP, but better rates on the S8:

24 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 55% - .00359 Money Factor
36 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 46% - .00359 Money Factor
48 mo/15k mi - Residual Value 36% - .00379 Money Factor

Obviously this isn't remotely accurate. It's just to give you an idea of what to expect. Since leasing companies won't know what resale will be like on the R8, chances are they will hedge their bets and make it low until real data arrives.

Keep in mind that dealers cannot change the residuals, but it's normal for them to mark up the money factor just a smidge (like any consumer lending situation).

http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm</a

with $5k cap cost reduction. If I did it correctly, the monthly nut with tax was $2729.

If that's the case, I'll be waiting a couple years and do what I did with the RS6, which is buy a used one with lower mileage.

Thanks again.

I'm hoping that as Audi reliability and brand image (in the US)improves, so will the residuals.
