However in my opinion, I believe that it will fall into the 3400-3500 range. Reason, I think audi is trying to get all aspects of performance, engineering, comfort and luxury amenities into the car, while still keeping it tagged as a 'supercar'.

I don't know why i am thinking this way, but I hope I AM WRONG and you are right with the R8 coming it at < 3300.

than previous ones. C6 Z06 = 3100lbs'sh and GT3 is approx 3000lbs so I also hope for sub 3200lbs.

Please make the R8 drop dead gorgeous, so much fun to drive that I can't wait to get behind the wheel, with the most beautiful interior and a wicked sound system (even though the V8 will be more melodious than any soundtrack). Bring it to North America for just under 100k (say 99,900), and charge us nice Canadians a fair exchange rate- say 120k Can. Phew..that wasn't so difficult to ask for. :-)

If the R8 comes in at around 3,300 pounds, it would have the same power to weight ratio as the M6. I know the two aren't direct competitors, but I don't think that Audi wants its sportscar to be outgunned by a grand tourer. This is of course assuming that the R8 at first comes out with 420-425 hp.

i'd expect better acceleration numbers.

Stylistically, i've got no love for the 6. From a distance its got some great proportions, but up close that thing is so freeking cut up- its retarded. my 2c.
