Oh, i dont know- maybe a 5 liter at least. Something that could be used across platforms, Q7 to R8.

The 4.2 is a fantastic machine and will be wonderful in the R8, but i'm just thinking it should have a bigger brother soon.

Heck, MBenz is making a stonking 6.2liter V8 that will be in nearly every car they make. Thats a whole engine size bigger that our 4.2!

I know we'll have the 5.2 V10, but even that is smallish nowadays.

i think you answered your own question rick :)

audi is taking on the challenge of developing smaller displacement engines in order to exploit all the marvels of modern engineering. benz is not.

more to brag about. can you imagine what audi could do with a 6.3 liter engine? scary.

audi doesn't need the displacement. and IMO i like the difference because it is a bragging right to some extent.

i think your concern is torque.

it's coming.

diesel.
