what the hell took audi so long to make a car the was debuted in 2003? was there that much technical data to go over and manufacturing cost crunching and production numbers? I just find it odd that it will have taken 4 entire years to get a already designed working prototype into production, granted the prototype and production car will definatly be different, but still the time lapse is large.

Saw the number '3000' some place, but that seems high.

iirc it was 1.5-2yrs at the most.

As for the time to get to market, remember the TT concept car broke cover at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show in Spetember of that year and first went on sale in North America as a 2000 model.</font>
