View Full Version : Fluffhead, quick question... star607 02-26-2009, 03:36 AM why did you choose suede over alcantara? Fluffhead 02-26-2009, 07:31 AM If I had to choose I would have got alcantara since my wife had it on her TT and I knew what I was dealing with. I'm guessing Audi went with suede for a reason, I just don't know what it was. The suede black is more black then the alcantara black, so maybe that's whey they went that route? I also think the suede has a slightly better grip feel to it over the alcantara IMHO. KryptoniK 02-26-2009, 07:55 AM star607 02-26-2009, 07:57 AM Are there any staining issues? The reason I ask is because I am considering rewrapping my euro wheels and knob and brake handle to either material. star607 02-26-2009, 07:58 AM KryptoniK 02-26-2009, 08:00 AM Fluffhead 02-26-2009, 08:18 AM The suede is holding up fine, but that's b/c I'm super cautious with it. I cover it when I go to the dealer and just about anywhere I'm not the one driving. Alcantara is much easier to maintain. The steering wheel will be the toughest part to get done. When I was going to have my leather Euro wheel done (before the suede was available to purchase) I couldn't find anyone willing to do it. Everyone told me they don't do it in house and they won't warranty the work. I hope you have better luck then I did. |
