View Full Version : Titanium mirrors
Jezzer 02-25-2009, 10:42 AM Hi Everyone My first post, My name is Jez and I'm from England. I own a black RS4 B7 Avant and would like to fit the titanium mirror covers to my car instead of the brushed aluminium ones. These were not available in the UK does anyone know the part number for these please. Also want to fit the black trim around the windows has anyone here done this? I have heard it cant be done without changing windows etc. Thanks Jez

Regarding the mirrors. This is all I can find on the part number. Try to specify you want the titanium version of the Aluminum Mirror cover when you call your Audi dealer.
I have the part number highlighted in the picture above.
Jezzer 02-25-2009, 11:15 AM Hi thanks for that, problem is the dealers do not have a part number for titanium so cannot order. I think this number is for the brushed aluminium. Are the titanium mirror covers the same number but with a different letter at the end? Or does anyone know the paint code or correct colour name for this titanium colour?
KryptoniK 02-25-2009, 11:26 AM They're both brushed aluminum, just different color.
Alex@Europrice 02-25-2009, 12:33 PM as Audi doesn't offer the mirror covers in Ti as a part. The paint code for TI is L-Y7P. if you have trouble getting the mirror covers or the black trims let me know and I can assist in getting these parts.

MARKNMTT 02-25-2009, 02:15 PM now... now when people search it will actually show up. Only a titanium gray exterior paint color from early Audi's ever pops up not the correct color code.

Jezzer 02-26-2009, 12:24 AM Thanks guys for the information on the mirrors, any ideas about changing over the window trim, has anyone done this or had them painted black or had a vinyl wrap but on them, how difficult is this to do?
Jezzer 02-26-2009, 12:33 AM Is the laquer that is used on the paint for the mirrors a satin finish one

BluDemon 02-26-2009, 11:59 AM Who knows what the quality is.... I just picked it. If you wait a few days I can tell you if it's ok or not.<ul><li><a href="http://www.automotivetouchup.com/">http://www.automotivetouchup.com/</a</li></ul>
MARKNMTT 02-26-2009, 12:22 PM matte finish of the wheel/mirror version so yes please post what you think when you get it.
Jezzer 02-26-2009, 12:29 PM I think you are right, just found another web site where the number matches what you say, are we back to square one again?
Alex@Europrice 02-26-2009, 12:52 PM Which generally indicates they are the same paint type. The paint code for the Ti mirrors is listed in the options catalog so it is for the mirrors so if they need to be replaced they know what to have the primered covers painted, however I suspect it will work on the wheels too and it should match both the RS4 and RS6 Plus wheels.

8AU is not a paint code.
BluDemon 04-01-2009, 06:08 PM LY7P Titanium Grey Met Exterior
Jezzer 04-02-2009, 11:26 AM This code was sent to a paint manufacturer who knew the code and was able to give the percentage of different paint colours to make up this colour. I also had LY7P made up and it was not the right colour for the titan wheels/mirrors. The mirrors were then painted in 8AU and matched exactly against some exsisting titan mirrors we had. The LY7P didn't. Now I have the exact colour my wheels will also be painted the same.

Is Jezzer here the only one having problems with the LY7P code matching? I would like to confirm the code to touch up a wheel but this message makes me pause for a second.

it matched for me
Jezzer 04-27-2009, 06:46 AM It may have matched for you but LY7P is the wrong colour, 8AU is correct.
