Yeah Yeah Yeah, its still a bit dirty and rain is predicted all week. Weekend is supposed to be nicer though.

Looks sweet. Love the mirrors. Love the menacing look of the front end. Especially without the plate bracket. I guess mine isn't as bad since the whole rest of the car is white. But it still throws off the look of the front. (Almost as much as driving around with the hood open)
With the black out trim, the look will be nearly complete. Have you considered blacking out the rs4 logos and rings?

I am thinking about it, seriously. At first I was against it because I thought with sprint blue it would be too much intentional blackout and look cheap, but now I am rethinking that decision. I do know that once the window trim is on in a few weeks, next target is the clear corner mod but now I may do what R1ce did, paint the inside of the headlight housings black, it looks really good. And i need to figure out which approach to take on the side markers. I think to complete the cosmetics, I may need to black the rings and get a gloss black license plate holder in back, not sure if I want to black the RS4 logos though. I see you left your front one silver, what did you do in back?

but got some feedback to do it in body color, so I tested it by wrapping the mirror in black and blue plastic to see how it would look, and blue definitely looked better in my opinion. the black looks after market. It looked good, but sprint blue mirrors looked great to me.

the front rings are now also black as can be seen in my sig.

http://forums.audiworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/98003.phtml

With painted mirrors and black trim (came from the factory that way) your car reminds me of my old E39 M5. BTW, I originally ordered a Sprint Blue RS4 and was planning to paint the mirrors blue. At the last minute I changed the order so as not to attract too much attention.
You could paint the car puke green with orange mirrors, put on 16" wheels, and any knucklehead who knows cars would still know it was an RS4.
But yeah everyone has their own taste. And no I am not looking to buy some 16" A4 rims.

300 Area?

LIGO facility, outside the "Area". I am about 2 miles from the Y barricade. Actually very close to the FFTF reactor site. But lucky for me I have nothing to do with that clustefu** out there. We are building a gravity wave observatory and since land was free from DOE, and it is seismically quiet and flat, this was the place of choice. We shoot a split laser beam down two 5km long beam tubes on the desert floor, beam tubes are near perfect vacuum inside. We look for the shift in phase when the lasers recombine on the return trip. Gravity is theoretically able to stretch and compress the beam tubes by a few nanometers over a 5km destance. We are trying to detect it and filter it from the background noise. Tough task, but good research.
My wife works at 200 east area, where tey are building the vitrification plant, she is a health physicist. Trust me no love loss with that place. She is looking to get out of there asap.

I worked for one of the contractors in the early 90's in the 200 Area. Hanford was a cluster** back then too. Radiation techs with 2 years of "training" sitting around all day making 50% more than the engineers. I did like the temperate weather and access to hiking/snowboarding. Working in the private sector in that locale would be pretty nice. Any hiring going on out there?

Pay 50K a year. Easy work, great benefits. go to the Caltech website for the job description. Not the best pay, but not a tough job.
