Any problems with brake clearance? How wide are yours 8 or 8.5?
I found a local set on craigslist and wanted to make sure someone had good experience with them before I bothered.

So long as you have a stock suspension and you can find 18" wheels that will clear your brakes.

What do you think of 275/40/18 and 255/40/19 on stock suspension. I have a brand new set of each from another car that I wouldnt mind using.

Those both will not fit. That combination of height and width will cause rubbing against the inner suspension components. The reason the 245 tire works despite the extra height is that its narrower width allows for clearance from the upper arms in front.
If you look (and feel) carefully, you'll notice that the stock 255/35/19 tires clear the upper arms by only about 7-8mm at the narrowest point.
A 275/30/19 tire works because it decreases rolling diameter by about 13mm, so even though it is wider, it provides more clearance from the upper arms.
Bottom line is that you can't go both taller and wider, or taller and equal width. Only slightly taller and narrower or wider and shorter.

My winters are AT Italia S5 7.5 x 18. Don't overpay - they were only $139 each from Tire Rack. I made some custom Audi centercaps for them. They look real nice and are easy as pie to keep clean. Holler if you want more info on the centercaps.
Let us know what you end up doing.
