OK, I finally finished installing the MS kit with the remote canisters. On my S4, I installed PSS9s, so this is my second go at suspension on this chassis. As noted ad naseum, the kit is top quality. I have only done a shakedown run, so I cannot give a good review of the suspension, except to say that it is set exactly as it arrived and it feels really sweet! Alignnment tomorrow, VIR in 2 weeks, full report to follow.

The directions Stasis provides are pretty good, so I did not take pictures. As compared to the standard coilover installation I did before, this was a beeee-atch. Let me tell you, there were times I cursed those canisters. The suspension part is a breeze. I spent at least as much time locating and securing the canisters. The problem is that there are extra heat shields (for the RS4) and all kinds of crap in your way, and you have to fish those things through... It's hard to explain, but budget some time. It took me three days, with another set of hands about half the time. I have a lift, but to be honest the car was low to the ground most of the time, and it would go fine on jack stands. Of course, I could do it in half the time now...

I also have scales, so I corner balanced it. Jason at Stasis said that it would be difficult to do, as there are a lot of rubber bits to absorb adjustment. I did not find that to be the case. I think I could have chased it right down to the pound, but I got bored. Plus, it was close enough, especially for a 3880 pound daily driver. (This is empty - no driver - and 'bout a half tank of gas). I dropped it about 1/2 inch to about 26, balanced drop all around.

The only thing left over!
I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Would like to put it back!

Byers Imports in Columbus, OH. It was the first time the tech had tackled this suspension, and it sounds like he had similar trouble with the reservoir canisters. :)

Probably going to get some dedicated track wheels this winter.

This is the lowest head count I have seen in 4 years. And gas is only $3.80 at VIR right now ($2.80 in town)!

Should make for some pretty spirited runs.

The canisters are a pain to mount. They would be easier if the brackets were two halves (a "split perch" in the world of mountain bike brake levers) so that you could mount the bracket and then set the canister into the bottom half and screw the top half down. But as they are you pretty much have to lock them down with the canister in the bracket, and the mounting bolt is underneath.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/85168/canisters1.jpg">

The passenger side is the easier of the two. We removed the ground rod for clearance and set the canister so we could put it back after. Note that I replaced that black plastic piece that goes next to the ECU. Looking at it now, its shape seems to be completely meaningless.

Things on the driver's side are more difficult as there are several hard lines to contend with. We bought a longer #8 metric bolt and used washers as spacers to move the bracket back toward the windshield, as it would not fit flush on the firewall. Things were so tight here that it literally took about 20 minutes to fish the socket and extension from under the canister after it was tightened down. But they should not need to be moved, and the adjustment knobs are easy to turn.

It may blend in because it's red. :P

Have you received any info/schedule about the event yet?

No detailed schedule, but we usually get that at check in. I assume it will be similar to past events.

I do like the newer blinker rule. I wasn't sure at first but it worked great this spring.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audiclubna.org/chapters/potomac/index.html">Potomac-Chesapeake ACNA</a></li></ul>

I was waiting for an email. And yes, I like the blinkers as well. :)
