quattro de Mayo was last weekend, and some of us made his weekly highlights. It was a pleasure talking with BluDemon, and his Ibis/titanium car looks great. This event has been a blast both times I've gone, and I'd sincerely recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at Mitchell's Lodge in Highlands, NC, which was a nice, quaint inn at the end of a great road.

A TT driver (AW member Scenic Driver) was leading a group taking off at 7:30 on Friday morning. Turns out that he and I ended up being the 7:30 group. :\ He had done his research, though; after running up through the Dragon I followed him around some great roads to some neat spots.

Unfortunately the group photo didn't quite go as planned due to very cold, rainy, and foggy conditions on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather cleared about halfway to dinner, but it can't be an Audi event without some rain.

I'll take their word for it.

It was nice having another RS 4 there this year, and once again a great time was had. The only damper on the weekend was when I backed my car into a bollard at a gas station on the way to WV. Dumb. :( Overall, though, the weekend was still a blast. There were a ton of TTs there; maybe the RS 4s can come out sometime next time. ;)

Edit: YouTube compressed the video pretty harshly, and I need a piece of foam to put over the microphone on the camera. Also, I was pretty nauseous the whole way through and actually had to take a break about 12 minutes in. Luckily, YouTube restricts you to 10-minute videos, so we're good there. ;) With that, here we are (bonus Mini coverage about 9:20 in): Movie.

And another that is not as good:

You had to be quick on the trigger to snap through the clear window there. :)

My passenger was quite impressed with the ride quality going around banked tight twisties and slow sweepers. The G's created were wonderful to feel on the gut. Some parts really felt like a roller coaster :-)

It's very twisty, but not overly so. I was nauseous this year, so that obviously took away from the experience, but I do enjoy driving that road. The driver behind me last year commented on how flat the car looked; I'd like to try it with Stasis at some point. ;)
